Etihad unveils A321LR interiors

Ahead of the delivery of its first Airbus A321LR, Etihad has unveiled the interiors of the new aircraft addition to its fleet which will include its “signature luxury” and all-new First Class suites with lie-flat beds and Business Class seats.


According to Etihad, the A321LR will “delivery wide-body comfort” on short and medium-haul routes, with 160 seats and three cabin classes – 2 First Class suites, 14 Business, and 144 in Economy. Onboard, passengers will have access to inflight internet Wi-Fi and entertainment system (IFE), and charging ports.


The inflight Wi-Fi is powered by Viasat, with its advanced, multi-orbit ready system that will provide internet with speeds of up to 1Gbps.


Speaking about the A321LR cabin, Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said: “With our new First Suites, 14 lie-flat Business seats with direct-aisle access, and upgraded Economy, we've taken the luxury experience which we are famed for on our widebody fleet and adapted it to offer guests the same experience in a single-aisle aircraft – all while keeping them seamlessly connected with superfast, streaming Wi-Fi throughout the journey.”


The first of ten A321LRs is expected to be delivered to Etihad this year is scheduled to enter service on August 1. Etihad will use the aircraft to fly from its hub at Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport to cities including Algiers, Athens, Bangkok, Chennai, Chiang Mai, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Kolkata, Krabi, Medan, Milan, Paris, Phnom Penh, Phuket, Riyadh, Tunis, and Zurich.


A321LR Seat Features


The Etihad A321LR will feature an all-new First Suite, which the airline will bring the premium experience usually seen on a widebody aircraft onto the narrowbody aircraft.  Two of the suites in a 1-1 configuration will be offered, with a sliding door for privacy, and a lie-flat bed. The suites will have a 20” 4K screen, Bluetooth pairing, and USB and A&C/wireless charging ports.

In Business Class, the 14 78” fully-flat beds will be forward-facing in a 1-1 configuration. Each seat features 17.3” 4K screen, Bluetooth pairing, and USB and A&C/wireless charging.

The 144 seats in Economy features a width of 18.4” and a recline of up to 5”. A 13.3” 4K screen is provided, along with USB and A&C/wireless charging ports.
